This method is Official for products containing low levels of sulphite such as are found in white sugars (General Subject 2) and specialty sugars (General Subject 3), with the exception of brown sugars, for which it is Tentaive [1].
If a choice is available to the user for the Determination of Sulphite in White Sugar then ICUMSA recommends that Method GS2/1/7/9-33 is used preferentially.
Access to the online Version of ICUMSA Method GS2/3-35 (2011) can be obtained from the Sugar Industry Website, operated by Bartens. The online access for two years costs EUR35 (+ 19 % VAT for German and EU citizens without EU VAT No.).
