The GC method of Schäffler & Morel du Boil [3] is used to determine simultaneously the fructose, glucose and sucrose contents in cane juices and syrups and in cane molasses (General Subjects 7, 4 and 3 [4]). This method is designated the ICUMSA Official (Reference) method [2]; it is the method that ICUMSA recommends for the Determination of Glucose, Fructose and Sucrose in Cane Juices, Syrups and Molasses in preference to Method GS7/4/8-23 and Method GS7/8/4-24.
Access to the online Version of ICUMSA Method GS7/4/3-22 (2011) can be obtained from the Sugar Industry Website, operated by Bartens. The online access for two years costs EUR35 (+ 19 % VAT for German and EU citizens without EU VAT No.).
